do z31 oem alarm systems kill the battery if they go on too long or do the shut off in time ... I was working under my Z and I tripped the hood alarm by bumping and I went to go put the key in ignition and turned it off but I think it was still clicking or half going off but no sound or lights I shut the door and it seemed to be off but I went to my car the next day and the battery is dead so maybe it was still going or does it have a kill switch or something

Not sure about the auto shutoff but I do know they will drain your battery over time if you don't drive it every few days because it is always drawing a little current.

If your battery is going dead, then it will trigger the alarm. Sometimes people assume the security system is what drained it, when it was actually just a bad battery to begin with. But, yeah, the alarm will continue sounding in intervals until the battery is completely dead.

is the starter lockout unarmed with the key in the door, ignition or some super secret hidden switch.

When the key is in the ignition and turned to the ON position, it disables the starter kill switch. If you put the key in the door then lock and unlock it, that'll reset the alarm system, but not disable the kill switch.

Are you having problems starting your car now, or something? If so, and you recharged or replaced the battery, check the wiring to the starter. I know you were recently working on your car and might have accidentally disconnected a wire. It's easy to do, especially when replacing the oil filter.

well I haven't gotten a chance to replace or recharge battery yet ... that's my true problem I never get enough time to work on my car ... it's in really really nice shape though for 20 years old only 62,000 original miles ... at the moment my new 3" CM exhaust is in mid install waiting for me to come back to finish.

my car would start just like any normal good running car would, except for one time i was backing in my steep driveway and stalled it, so i turn the key off, push the clutch and brake down, then hit the key and it does nothing, not even a click, plus i also disconencted this aftermarket alarm system and pulled the relay for the stock alarm..
