Cold Starting

On my 85 N/A, I have a very difficult time starting it when it is around 40 degrees or less. It can take up to five minutes just to keep it running. Once it starts it will want to stall out. If it stays runnning, once it hits 3000 rpm driving down the road it will bog out. After it gets past 3000 rpm it has more hp than ever. Once the engine is fully warm I have no trouble at all. I am confused. What can i do to fix this. I palce to use this car as my daily drive during the winter months so that I can work on my SS.
