Code 21 Ignition Signal failure???
okay, im working on my friends Z and i am stumped. The other day we did a routine tune up (cap, rotor, plugs) and the car ran fine. drove it 2 blocks to gas station and back, still running fine. borrowed the car to a roommate to go pick someone up 4 blocks away and he came back complaining about a "fuel cut" kind of problem. went outside to take it for a ride and it wouldnt start at all. tried to restart a few times and the most we could get is a couple of sputters and then it would die. swapped out fuel filters and it fired right back up. drove it around awhile with no issues and parked it. started the next morning like it was no thing and drove it to work. went to move it for lunch and again no start. ran ecu codes and got 44 (all good). reinstalled ecu and it fired right back up. droved the car home and again not a single hiccup. got in the car to go somewhere and again with the no start! we are completely frustrated but at least this time it threw code 21 ignition signal not recieved by ecu. okay all the wires and connectors appear to be in good shape and plugged in properly any suggestions on where to start diagnosis?

My 85 z turbo did about the same, minus the spuddering. It would not crank from the key, nothing would happen, i installed a radio in it and it started working i was stumped why that did anything, car began to have the same problem later on down the road, i hooked a push button to the starter and used it as a back up. I just did an automatic to manual 5 speed conversion and havent had the problem since, i swear these cars have minds of their owns.
