89 Turbo...No Start after being stored
89 Turbo...No Start after being stored
Have stored the car of 11 years...started very infrequently. Drove the car 1/4 mile moving into my garage about 3 years ago...ran fine. Same gas for all this 11 years (yes I know I am an idiot). So now I am paying the price. Car cranks fine but no hint of firing. Add starting fluid to intake plumbing and it fires. Removed hose between fuel rail and filter and when key on the pump works and flows about 1/2 pint of gas out of the filter. So pretty sure the injectors are clogged. Any other diagnosis?? How do I confirm if the injectors are being commanded to fire??
Is there a way to clean the injectors without removing them?? Because it looks to me that I will have to remove the top of the intake and lift the rail which means a bunch of other stuff will need to be removed. Is it possible to drain the fuel rail and inject a cleaner or pressurize a cleaner within the rail??
Any ideas/tips are appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

First check for spark. If you have spark then get a noid light or test light and see if the injectors are pulsing while cranking the engine. If they are then pull the injectors and send them to Mr. Injector for cleaning. He is usually backed up a couple of weeks but he is the best. Pulling them wont be as easy a removing the spark plugs and no there is no other way to clean them.
