Water leak into passenger footwell - drain pipe sought

Does anyone know if there is some kind of water drain pipe tube from the passenger side bulkhead of the Z31? And if so, where can I find the end in order to unblock it.

I am in the UK and so mine is a right hand drive version (i.e for driving on the left) so I am talking about the left hand footwell. I have had water from the windscreen running down inside the car - close to the ECU inside the kick panel! Any clues of where to search and rectify - most welcome.

If you have a T top roof you'll find the answers you need here. I can't help but wonder though, if you haven't already identified the source of the water entry when you mentioned the windscreen leak.
If you've ever had to find the source of a water leak in a house you'll appreciate that H2O is a cruel mistress -- like electricity it will take the path of least resistance. I found water pooling on top of a suspended ceiling and the source of the leak was 20 feet away inside a wall. ^&^%!!!

Thanks for the thoughts here. This leak however is nothing to do with the T top though. The water flows (correctly) down the outside of the windscreen. It then goes inside the outer wing. I imagine it SHOULD then run between the outer wing and the inner wing (fender) onto the ground. Some of it does. However some of it runs into the car - front of the doorpost near the ECU.

My question is - should there be some sort of drain tube that gets the water from the bulkhead (i.e BELOW the windcsreen which appears well sealed) onto the ground without running onto the ECU? This route appears to be blocked - I imagine by tree droppings. People seem to suggest that there should be such a route. But so far I have failed to see where its ends are so I can unbloick it.

From the posted link:
  1. Front ones are behind wings and water runs down in the inside of wing....
  2. The fronts are behind the wings about half way up the car, these are the ones that are normally the problem it seems like the pipe inside strinks a little and pulls itself out the rubber part that comes out behind the wing. Then the water runs into fusebox etc.
  3. Front pipes run down the A pillar down to the side of the dash and behind the fuse board.
  4. And to help prevent problems with the front drains, remove your side repeaters, there you will see where the drain pipe enters the cabin, disconnect it here and fit a connector and some new pipe down behind the wheel splash guard, so you have no drain inside the cabin and no drain going through the sill.

Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and giving a most useful reply White Zed! I will look at doing that.

One small connected thing - I managed eventually to get a replacement ECU from someone breaking a Z31 in the UK (A rare occurance) It is now fitted. Perhaps a niave question - but should the ECU automatically turn on the radiator fan when the temperature requires it? (Only on certain days is the air temperature in the UK high enough for that to be necessary!) My rad. fan ceased to operate about a year before the old ECU packed up due to water seepage . At the time I did not know the ECU was in trouble. I therefore had a manual switch put onto the fan.

My question is - should I now expect the new ECU to trigger the fan into action automatically - or retain manual operation?

Is the concern what will happen when the fans have been manually activated and the ECU is also telling the fans to activate? A sort of double-whammy, I suppose..? I have switched my 924s' fans to manual. This included disconnecting the temp sensor and removing the assigned relay. Nary an issue.

That's abou it, yes (could there be damage in their 'fighting each other?) Do you know where the temperature sensor is for the fan on the Z?
