Shock Conversion from Air to Regular

Shock Conversion from Air to Regular
Not sure how to describe this, but I have 300zx Z31 turbo that had the suspension you could adjust with the selector *** on the center console, the previous owner bought a conversion kit (assuming that's what it would be called), and converted to standard shocks. My question is what does the conversion kit convert the shocks to? I'm assuming the same year standard shock? Would I be right?
Every garage I try to take it to in my area says "They won't get into that" because I can't tell them specifically what shock it takes I feel like I'm driving a Cadillac now because the thing floats when I hit a bump, but I can't find a garage that'll change the shocks for me.

Welcome to ZDriver!
I dealt w/ this issue a long time ago while helping a friend find replacement shocks / struts for his 84T. From what I remember, you can just install the non-adjustable kind in place of the stock ones. KYB's had some adapter plate to go with theirs. Really all you're doing is leaving the dampening wires disconnected. A quick site (or Google) search should give you the answer.

all you do is replace the adjustable shocks with regular shocks. you do need the adapter plates to make the rear install. Any decent tokico, kyb or bilstein shock that says made for a z31 should work just fine. The PO probably cheaped out and put monroes or something like that. while you are at it do the bushings in poly. replace the ball joints and tie rod ends. car will now track like it is supposed instead of wandering the road like a drunk pig.
