2+2 vs regular N/A

i've heard that the 2+2 is slightly slower than the normal n/a 2 door coupe, is this trrue or is it just stupid guys talkin about stuff they dont know anything about?

only because of the additional weight. but it's not that much slower.

It also depends on if the owner knows how to handle the car and how fast of shifter he/she is.
