So I took the tumbler out of my door today to have a key made. The plastic behind the door panel basically fell apart. I figured while I was in here I'd fix the passenger assisted lock, as it never locks fully when the I lock the driver door. I'm going to lube all the elbows and fittings, and the hinge on the rod to the right of the door handle (I'll post pics tomorrow) looks loose. I'll also try tightening that or putting a washer behind it as a shim. If anyone has advice, I'd appreciate it. Search revealed nothing.

 

I take it you checked for new OEM components and didn't find. Any recycler with a Z31 door on his lot would sell you the lock assembly from it - which you can get keyed how you want. Check car-part.com for recyclers near you, sort parts list by distance from your zip.
