Noob posting

As Entropy said in my last posting to go turbo i decided to but i was wondering if anyone could tell me everything that i would need to do that? I already have a turbo and manifolds lined up but i need to know what else I need and if anyone has any of the parts lying around for cheap?
Thanks Zach

you really ought to go with a turbo motor, or better yet, find a turbo car and start with that.

It is hard to find a turbo motor around here for less then 800 dollars and those are junk yard cars that havent started in 5 years and getting a hold of a whole car is next to impossible. The guy also said he had the heads too.

you can just get a turbo motor, but you might as well just convert the NA motor over if you already have the parts, i found it easier to just convert a NA motor to turbo, finding a decent z31T parts car can be fairly challenging if you dont live in or near a major city. if you can get a z31 turbo parts car it would be easier to get what you need though..

yeah, i guess it is different depending on where you live. there are about 4-5 turbo z31s, most running, near me for under a grand.

All the z31s around here turbo or not go for more then 2000 so a parts car is out of the question and i was just going to get the parts online. The guy offered me the manifolds and the turbo for one hundred so what else do i need?

Another question is do i need to install a detonation sensor or do i not need it because the turbo version does and if so is there already a bum on the motor for it?

try JIS Japan Engines INC out of texas. Do a search for the company. Or you can just go to the sticky at the top of the Z31 forum and click on the hyperlink within the thread's first post.
