Noob posting
As Entropy said in my last posting to go turbo i decided to but i was wondering if anyone could tell me everything that i would need to do that? I already have a turbo and manifolds lined up but i need to know what else I need and if anyone has any of the parts lying around for cheap?
Thanks Zach |
you really ought to go with a turbo motor, or better yet, find a turbo car and start with that.
It is hard to find a turbo motor around here for less then 800 dollars and those are junk yard cars that havent started in 5 years and getting a hold of a whole car is next to impossible. The guy also said he had the heads too.
you can just get a turbo motor, but you might as well just convert the NA motor over if you already have the parts, i found it easier to just convert a NA motor to turbo, finding a decent z31T parts car can be fairly challenging if you dont live in or near a major city. if you can get a z31 turbo parts car it would be easier to get what you need though..
yeah, i guess it is different depending on where you live. there are about 4-5 turbo z31s, most running, near me for under a grand.
All the z31s around here turbo or not go for more then 2000 so a parts car is out of the question and i was just going to get the parts online. The guy offered me the manifolds and the turbo for one hundred so what else do i need?
turbo feed line, turbo oil pan, turbo ECU, injectors FPR, front x-member. i have the oil pan, injectors FPR and front x-member if you want to buy them
how much and could you hold them for me?
i will sell the oil pan, injectors FPR and fuel rails for $150+SH and the rust free x-member for $75+SH
could you hold them for me for a week or two please?
no problem..
Thanks and mighty appreciative.
I was thinking about but i don't have to change my heads and pistons if i keep the boost under 8 pounds right?
i would keep it under 7.
how much is a boost control that i can do that with
any boost controller will work, just make sure you stick with name brand..
Another question is do i need to install a detonation sensor or do i not need it because the turbo version does and if so is there already a bum on the motor for it?
i would recommend it, and i believe their is a bum on the block for it..
I was wondering yet doubtful if anyone had turbo pistons lying around or knew where i can get some for cheap cheap.
i dont think i would ever go with cheap piston's considering they take alot of b eating in an engine..
try JIS Japan Engines INC out of texas. Do a search for the company. Or you can just go to the sticky at the top of the Z31 forum and click on the hyperlink within the thread's first post.
