A little advice, should I look into buying?

A little advice, should I look into buying?

My Rx7 is a great car, sure, nice. Wonderful!

However, pump price is taking its toll on a thirst for gas my car has that can not be quenched.

So, here it goes. I am looking at an 84' 300zx, and he 'says' that it needs a new crank position sensor, as well as a battery. I can provide both of those, but how hard would it be to get the two of those fixed upright and have the car running? My Rx7 is my only running car at the moment, and could have the 300zx off to the side, but would need it running before I sold my FC.

Usually there is a $4 or less difference per 20 gallons of gas between regular and unleaded. Just stick with what you got.

crank angle sensor is in the distributor, so it's an easy swap and replace. setting the timing properly will be the majority of the time spent.

battery, uh... yeah. really need to know how long that will take?

car is NOT a 50th Anniversary Edition.
fan shroud is missing.
some intake piping is missing.

The pictures show me a car worth about $300.

If the car only needs a battery and a crank angle sensor, then the owner should replace them if that's all it needs to get it into running condition. It’s easier to sell a running car than a non-running car.

The car is a 1984 N.A., not a 1984 AE. Since he’s misrepresenting the car, who knows what else could be wrong with it. Caveat emptor.

A z31 gets approx. 18 mpg city, 24 mpg highway. It doesn’t need the premium high octane gas that I think your RX-7 requires. The gasoline savings of a z31 over a RX-7 may not be all that significant.

My 84NA 5spd gets 22-24 in town and 26-30 freeway. 22mpg was while delivering pizza. If it was just normal city driving, it was closer to 24 in town.
