UM... I think that's called "adjusting your timing." You need a timing light to do it correctly. Taking it too far in either direction, will suffer performance loss.

he's right, you're talking about advancing your timing, not as easily done correctly on a computer controlled car. too much could cause some detonation.

The only thing lamer than street racing is internet message board racing what-ifs.

Want to know who's faster? Take it to a track.

wha? no really... who would win in a race between me, and a 72 Pinto... such as this one:
(I think he still might win even with the trailer)

Ya gotta watch out for some of those old Pintos. I used to have a '74 Pinto wagon with a seriously built 289 under the hood. Outside it was bone stock ghetto. That thing was insane! I got it from some surfer dude in Huntington Beach for $400.00 back in '87 because I needed something to carry my surfboards in myself. That car was a blast. People would see it and talk smack until I showed them what it could do

Sorry, I just noticed this AZ...

Since you're so big on spelling and grammar, I thought I would quickly point out that "lamer" is not a word I think maybe you meant to write "more lame" instead

Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect. I do mess up occasionally. But usually only when I'm very hungover or very drunk.

I got an idea to help make your car faster for a guy on a budget. Put your car on a diet. Take out the big heavy subs and box. Loose the spare tire, and jack. Yank out all the carpet. Ditch the passenger seat...you don't want your buddy riding with you during the race anyway. Pull off your AC and cruise control from under the hood...don't need those when your foot is to the floor. Pull off your sway bars...again not needed in the 1/4 mile. There, that should be enough to make it close.

Alright, I'll grant you that it is in fact a word. I should have clarified. The word is real, the grammar was poor...

If the word is incorrect and used appropriately in a sentence, how can the grammar be poor?

The basic rules for using more and most usually state to use them when the words have two or more syllables in the basic word (or was it three?). There are always exceptions, but lame to lamer or lamest isn't one of them.

My biggest pet peeve about grammar is idiots who use "U" and "R" for "you" and "are". And those other jackasses who can't differentiate between "you're" and "your"; "their", "there", and "they're"; and other words that are contracted with apostrophes. It's basic words that should have been taught in 4th grade that 16, 17, and 18 year olds can't seem to get right. The internet is making kids dumber and dumber. I wonder if we'll even have anyone smart enough left to take over by the time I actually am old enough to retire.

I feel your pain AZ ZBum. I really do. I wonder myself sometimes how some of the kids coming out of High School are ever going to function in society. Not to say that all kids in that generation are lost... Just a larger number than previous generations. I was just busting your ***** on the Grammar thing. I have to hand it to you though. I have never seen the word "Lamer" used as anything other than an adjective.

Yeah. I know. But it is used as an adjective.

"The only thing lamer than street racing is internet message board racing what-ifs."

restated:
Message board racing what-ifs are lamer than street racing.

Back on subject, did 86zman ever race either of the other cars?

I'm sure if he had taken on either of those cars yet, we would have been the first to hear about it. When and if it does happen, I'm sure we will know in short order. By the way, I meant adjective describing a person rather than a situation... (i.e. that dude is such a lamer!) It just seemed slightly odd or out of place. It was also way past my bed time or I would have been clearer... Or is it "more clear"?
