Hi guys.

I have a 87 300zx and i notice that with some push the side mirrors do move inwards but there's a strange resistance. So before breaking a $60 part due to my curiosity , figure I'd check the internet. Didn't find any info that they do indeed close.

So.


Do they?

No, the side mirrors do not fold flush. There is a hinge that is spring loaded to provide some relief and pop back if the mirrors do strike something.

My power mirrors fold, but I'm disappointed I don't have control over when they do (like in and out of a tight garage). They auto-fold when the car locks, and out when it unlocks. That's it.

(If I've missed a control somewhere please let me know, and if this cold be another GPS-set feature even better).

 

Yes fold in.

 

Newer models do that.
