Are 84's different than other years or are they interchangeable?

maybe interchange with 85,86 after that they started changing things BUT don't know for sure. I took a 87 climate control module and put it in my 86 which seemed happy.

 

Reason I ask is that someone said Zbum says there is an issue ..

 

its possible. I don't know the answer for sure but think 85,86 would be the best bet if you get your hands on one. have you looked inside the console itself and inspect for broken wires burnt connectors?

 

NO ..I intend to pull it this week. I have been putting it off for sometime as the AE is very clean and I hate pulling things apart..you know what I mean!

With my 88 (may she rest in pieces) I had no problem as I had done all sorts of stuff to her.
