digital dash

I recently purchased a 280zx 2+2 only 54000 miles but was kept outside and the interior was shot. I have gotten it all done but when I replaced the dash I now have problems with the digital dash. The gages register when the headlights are on but the key is in the off position. once you crank the car or put the key into the on position the readings go out. I do have power to the power box and out of the power box but not on all outlets. not sure if they are all suppoed to be hot. Also the circuit boards is hot. what can i check next?

Did you pull out the hole dash ? meening did you unbolt the steering wheel and let it hang loose then had two people help remove the hole dash ? if you did that i have learned that if you " dont " hook up all the wire harness located on the drivers side there should be 5 males and 5 females all are color coded "? brown , white etc. reconnect the wires an check again the fuses... i have a digiatal dash 280zxt 1983 the engine was shot. but mine does work 100%

yes i pulled the dash out completely.set the 2 sidew by side so i could put everything back the way it is supposed to be. when i first put it in everything lit up then the car lost power, surged and the readings were gone. i have back lights and warning lights (brake, seatbelt, etc) no gas gage or temp, tech, speedo. we unhooked and rehooked. checked all fuses even had a friend who builds hot rods come check it out we are bumfuzzeled. thinking it may be the power supply box for the dash.

digital gauge

mine did the same thing bro. I replaced mine in my 83 non turbo and its fine now. I belive the reason it happend to me is because I unhooked mine so many times that the plug connections just wore out. try to play with the connections and see what happens

I know this is a little OT but can you put a digidash in a car that had an analog gauge set?
