Talking Loud scraping!!!

Well, the other day I had a pair of rear tires installed on the turbo. While the wheels were off I noticed that the brakes could use some attention. So, I ordered the appropirate rotors and pads. Today, as I'm tearing apart the drivers rear components, I finnaly see what my scraping noise is. Once I removed the caliper, the inner pad fell totally apart. Obviously it was worn down past the metal. I didn't notice this until today. Further tear down showed me why that side was having issues. The upper caliper pin was seized in the adapter bracket. Thus not allowing the caliper to center itself on the rotor.

Long story short.......

New brakes. No more scraping. And braking effects are increased by almost 100%.

That's why they have wear indicators on brake pads these days. They give a distinct squeek when the pads reach the wear limit & if the driver is observant, they will know it's time to change the pads before they damage the rotors.
