hey guys
i have a 91 manual 2+2 n/a
when i rev it in neutral, the car sounds fine. but when i step on the gas in gear, it makes a really loud knocking noise on every gear. i hope me engines not blown. i heard it might be the input shaft is hitting the cluth? im worried lol. any answers?

I think it's safe to say your engine's not blown since it's running and sounds fine in neutral. My spidey senses also tell me you're probably on the right track with something clutch (or probably transmission) related also since it sounds fine in neutral. Be warned though, my knowledge of these vehicles is still basic at best but hopefully some of the veterans will come around with their two cents.

Where does the knocking come from more specifically? If you could get a video of the sound that would help a lot.

b4 u go crazy nd try takin the tranny out in these badboys cause last thing u wana do is take it out replace some parts nd go drive nd the noise is still there try seeing if its speed related go on the highway get up to where it makes the noise then put it into neutral if it goes away right away its in the tranny if not its something thats still spinning

I believe my car has the same issue, it revs fine in park or nuteral,
but when you really put your foot on the gas it gets very loud almost like an exhaust leak. it doesnt seem to have any power loss just noticeibly louder almost like a knock but its not.... i dont hear it like it would be in the tranny
which is why it never alarmed me, i just figured "Big engine + little insulation =
alot of noise..

thanks for the answers guys! the motors fine. i just need to replace the cluth and bearing.
