digital vs analog

hey guys. my new 300zx AE has a fuel gauge problem and i'm planning on buying a kit that could fix this. before i spend $100 or so, would you recommend i just replace the whole digital dash idea with a trusty analog?

i mean the look and value of a working digital dash surpasses that of an analog, but from your experience would it just constantly break down?

btw, my AE is untouched and im wondering what's the first recommended mod that could help its performance? im thinking of exhaust or intake at the moment...

if you're modifying the AE, what's the point of keeping it's originality?

if you're planning on replacing the cluster because the fuel gauge is bad, you're in for a shocker. you'll still have a fuel gauge problem.

JM2C but if (a) the FSU is faulty and (b) it is known to be a problem on the z31s, then (c) please replace it with a NEW part. I would think that purchasing a used 20-year old relay known to have problems would cause more problems than picking one up new from Courtesy Nissan or MSA.

Buy it new. If you buy a used electrical part, you're just asking to replace it again within the next year.

I have the same grief with my fuel guage (analog) so I am going to try This before I cough up some scratch for a new on (cheap scot). Scroll 1/2 way down to fuel sending unit cleaning.
