Is Analog to Digital Conversion Possible?

Last summer i totaled my Z31 and am looking to buy a new one but all i can find are none digital models.

1. Is a conversion possible?

2. Could anyone help me put together a parts list and break down for a conversion?

That's not a common conversion. Most people want to get rid of the digital nightmare. I remember seeing something about it on Z31.com a few years ago. If i'm remembering right, you have to pull both dashes and swap wiring harnesses and the power supply box. Do a search at Z31.com or Z31performance.com.

Hang around any z31 forum for awhile and you'll see that digital dashboard problems are one of the most commonly posted topics. Because of the digital dashboard's higher level of complexity, most people do digital -> analog dash conversions. The digital dash is high tech and spacy looking but the analog dash is more trouble-free.

You need to be good at reading electrical schematic diagrams. You'll need a multimeter. You'll need a Nissan Service Manual for both the donor car's model year and the recipient car's model year. It would be better if the model years of both cars be the same because of differences among the digital dashboards of z31 model years. You'll also need certain parts that are unique to digidash models like the compass control unit in the spare tire area.

I don't understand why people like looking at needles! That's sooooo old school, and the digital gauges are very accurate in the Z's. I love mine! The worst thing I had to do was resolder a few connections in the PSU. It's worked perfectly every since, and once I clip that purple wire, I can tell how fast the car will really go.
