YiPPY! and WTF is that noise?

I traded 2 sets of S30 headlight covers(i paid $35 for both) for this!

Now for WTF is that noise?
i tried figuring it out on my own. i read thru numerous threads. used the searched button till my fingers hurt and i still cant find a close/good answer.

when i put load on the motor i can hear this high pitch sound. the sound fades away as the motor idles down. but always is heard(when its quiet enough) when load is put to the motor. the sound sounds like someone hitting a tuning fork.

ideas?

try putting some lube or wd40 on your belt tensioner pulley. might just be a dried out bearing.

I have lubed any rotating part that i figure would make the sound.

To me, it sounds internal. i cant seem to pinpoint the exact location. every time
i find where i think its coming from it sounds louder somewhere else.

yea, the diodes on an alternator can make high pitch noises when they are going out.

Smoken deal...good for you.
Do you hear the sound while you are sitting inside the car or poping the hood and earing away???
If you are inside and have an auto A/C some time the little climate control sensor fan make that noise.
looking at your ZX for me it looks like a 82 -83 year GLL model N/A and they come with auto A/C!!

Noise

Sounds like it could also be a vacuum issue such as a restricted air regulator or even a collapsed hose. Have you tried pulling the belts to see if it's still there? Could even be a PS hose or the pump itself. Are you running AC? Seriously doubt it's internal engine.

take the belts off of the engine completely. that will eliminate all of the front rotating parts. if it goes away then check the pulleys for worn bearings. if not id be looking else where, like vacuum leaks or a bad stereo ground.
