Whats it worth?

So i finally have the chance to buy a L28ET in south Florida! only problem is the motor is in peices and theres no tranny harness or ECU and messed up turbo. Its funny really, the guy selling it got the damn thing for FREE! stupid part is he has a 240sx so he actually was attempting to swap it into his S13. I tried to talk him out of it and told the guy i would straight up buy the motor from him. It'll be win/win, i get the motor that drops right in for me, and he would get pure profit and be able to buy a nice SR or CA which drops right in for him hassle free instead of trying to do a swap that no one really does and with very little gain. Anyway 2 months later the guy PMs asking if im still interested....how much should i give him for the dis-assembled motor sans tranny, harness, ECU and a blown turbo? i offered $500 already i hope it wasnt too much!

hmmm... that blows. well it aint to hard to put motors back together if you know your stuff, and lww is talking about a new turbo, they are 700 or more for a better, a used one that who knows how long it'll last will be like yeah 100 or so bucks. 500 you can get a turbo motor in working order and good condition with a good turbo though. i coulda got a great condition motor with all but the trans (ecu wiring harnes etc) shipped to my door from cali for 552 dollars. i shoulda done it lol.

700 dollars is for something like a bran new T04...not even the Hybrid T3 T4 goes that much but thena gain im not sure about new prices but ill be happy with a used WORKING turbo, oh and there is a tranny the guy forgot to mention it. Just need it assembled and the ECU and harness. I plan on doing the swap my self with my friend and his dad so i dont have ot pay a shop to do it.

^^^ I think you've spent too much time looking at the plastic turbos on ebay. Welcome to the real world. You could get the turbo rebuilt for about $400.
