How about a 280zx 5speed? That's a direct swap.

I hear a T5 or a T56 will fit too but i don't know if you have to change the driveshaft or not. Haven't done that much research yet.

Blown transmissions are perfect for Isuzu trucks. That's what I got out of his statement.

use a non-turbo 280ZX 5-speed.

The driveshaft may be need to be changed too. I never did an auto to manual swap.

Dont' use a blown transmission from an Isuzu.

Haha. Sorry guys! I was a bit tipsy last day when I typed in that post.

The previous owner had changed the blown transmission of the 280zx to a used but good 5 speed transmission off an Isuzu truck.

Better?

not off an Isuzu pup for sure as we don't get those kind of trucks here. Might ask the previous owner off of whivh exact model did he get the transmission.

I really don't think any other transmissions bolt up to the engine and rear mount other than L-series.

I had a 1985 Isuzu Pup before. We get them here in the USA.

No no i'm from a tiny island in Europe As the former owner told me he blown the transmission and found one that matched the L-Series engine. I'm pretty sure he stated it was off an Isuzu car/truck.

Have to call him up again because i'm curious to know.

Ok I'll throw this in since I'm looking at having to rebuild my transmission, mechanic that checked it out said he had a 5 speed transmission off a 84 200sx 2.0. that from the outside looked like a direct bolt on. Anyone out there know if this is an option for a swap out on the five speed or if the gear ratios are to far off etc??

if its from an 84 its a CA20e trans

regardless of what trans you find that might work your still going to need an L series bell housing on it to bolt it up.
