transmission

okay i took my old tranny out that had a slight 2nd gear grind and notchiness. i had a guy look at the synchros and bearings and he didn't see any damage. he said everything looks really good. and spins well.

so what is causing my grind. he suggested using motor oil in the tranny, does that work?

any suggestions, it looks like there is no internal damage or is he missing something. i saw the synchros and they look good. spun it and it spins smooth.

Is he going to charge you for tearing it apart? If so... you should prolly just have it rebuilt. The kit should only be about $150 from a tranny / bearing supply company. And no... don't use motor oil.
