throtle position sensor no power

so i was prodding around on my old z after it was sitting for 15 years. got it started and it idles nice.. when i step on the gas it tries to die and sputters. the sensor on the throtle body i assume is the tps...i tested it with a test light and there is no power to the sensor. also with the car running and you pull the electrical connection of nothing changes..is there a fuse for this sensor...i think this is preventing me from zoom zoom.its a 79 280zx

It's not really a "voltage" sensor... it's an "open loop" or "closed loop" switch: Idle, mid, and full throttle.

Search for my previous posts on the TPS.
