I cleaned up my intake manifold yesterday.

Problem: I supect a huge vaccum leak somewhere that i cannot find.
The car fires up and runs no problems, however when i push on the throttle i get very little difference if any in the rpm. Any ideas anyone?

I suggest putting back all the hoses you removed to see if that solves the prob. If so... you know that something you removed is causing the prob.

I plan on doing that this weekend. Im just curious because ive seen mutiple zxt's set up like this. Am i supposed to have done something else with the car before removing these items?

Had the brilliant idea to use the search button. (GO FIGURE) and read the n42 thread. I guess im just one of the unlucky ones who cant do this clean up of the intake mani. Gonna put the bypass valve back on and not put a block off plate on the aac valve.

Also curious if its neccesary to run the charcoal canister, just want to know if the car will still run normaly with all those lines removed. I figured id have to remove all that for when i put my intercooler in. The setups ive seen dont have them so the ic piping fits. Input appreciated

There used to be a red one featured on Overboost.com ... looks like that website is no more. Though HBZ posted pics of it: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?...t-racing-team/

Yes, you can remove the charcoal canister, but you should add a filter on the fuel tank vent tube. As for the "ic piping fits"... notice that on the stock setup, none of the charcoal canister lines go to the J-pipe (what you would be replacing w/ an IC setup). They go to the intake manifold & to the AFM to turbocharger boot.

What's your timing at? Is your TPS securely connected?

Solved my problem. The vacc hose i bought from a hadware store wasn't working and i just meant, would ic piping still fit with the charcoal canister in there?

Problem not solved. I bought all the proper vacc lines and put back all emissions equiptment. but my car still stall out after a few seconds. My guess is my tps plug. BUT. i was looking at msa plugs and they are all two prong, while my throttle valve switch has three prongs on it, i dont see a specific plug on msa. Anyone know if a fuel inj plug or any of the others on msa are compatible?

nevermind on this dumb post, i found a lage vacc line going from the afm tube to the intake that had a thumb size hole in it

ok, new lines didnt help, i hear a leak coming from the carbon canister. I plan to just remove it so i can fit my ic piping through the hole in the frame in front of the canister. Is there any i need to do besides pluging the open vaccum ports and adding a filter on the fuel tank vent tube? My motor lopes and idles poorly. my tps plug is nice and secure other than the canister leak im lost for ideas

I would check the ground wires on the motor and ecu plugs. I have pics here on ZDriver of the notorious bad ecu wires...

EDIT... here's a pic:
