Speedo Removal FS5W71B

I cant seem to get the speedometer cable out from the transmission.

I unbolted the 10mm bolt and the little key came off with the bolt.

Yanked, twisted and pulled.(non-sexaul) Still cant get the speed sensor off!(non-sexaul)

Im trying not too pull on the cable itself, so i dont stretch it out. Am i going at this the wrong way?

I wish I could help. Mine came out without an argument. Have you tried gripping it with a gerber and using something to add leverage to pull it?

The cable and speedo transmission cog gear are two separate pieces. You unscrew the cable cupped nut and the cable slides out. And yes, getting the cog gear out can be cumbersome. I had to wrap a shop rag around one and carefully clamp on a set of vice grips... then gently tug.

It took a womans touch to get it off...haha.

My girlfriend simply turned it counter clockwise to about 9'oclock and pulled it out.

...Dont hate...i admit, i got schooled by a chic who rebuilt her 88' VG30ET and did an auto to manual swap at the same time in her Z31.
