you need to verify that you're not losing fuel pressure. Take taht pump back and use the money to get a fuel pressure gauge. And no, it wont cost as much as the pump did

 

what about the ic module, the one on the side of the dizzy, if it wanrms up and is weak, it will cause similar symptoms, maybe the coil? thats far out there but maybe, ive had cars at work do that, and it was the coil, gotta spare?

 

I was going to say coil too but if it were a weak coil then giving it gas should only make the symptoms worse wouldn't it?

 

Ok, I think I finally fixed the issue!!!

I replaced three things:
1. The EGR valve.
2. Some vacuum hoses around the EGR valve; I got some new ones.
3. The cylinder head temperature sensor was replaced also.

My ZX idled for about 20 minutes without losing power and shutting off.

lotta peolpe having the same probs latley here, all related to the same things, good to here its fixed, just seems to be a wave, solved by the same stuff it seems. mine too hahaha
