Quick engine swap??

This saterday I am going to swap engines. Both are 79's. Whats the fastest way to swap them and have at least one run by the end of the day? I searched the forums and no help that i could find. I have never swapped an engine (except a jet engine) before but i know the concept of it.

Any help would be great.

These motor's come out easy and quick. Do you plan on Trany swaps as well? Eastist way would pull the trany out. and unbolt/rebolt trany and pop em in together. Less fight that way. Takeing the radiator out is not a mandatory thing. But i would to keep it from geting hit by a swinging motor. Unbolt drive line(so it don't fall and make a loud Bang). Unbolt mouts. Elect Lines, Fuel hoses(watch out for those one's, there under alot of pressure). Radiator(so it don't get damaged), and lift her out. These motor's came with chain mounts for ease of lifting(Front Passenger mount at front where the Fuel line and coolent lines bolt to block, and Last bolt on Exhuast Manafold) If there not there. then i would sugest you mount the chains there, seems to be the most balanced spot. Compard to other car's. The L28E is easy.

What is the point of swapping the engines?
Just for fun, or because one has a bad component? This may bring up some shortcut ways to get one running in a day.

I would disagree about the radiator. Pulling the engine by itself or with the tranny would require the radiator out. It'll be very close even with it out. I would remove the alternator and the fan on the water pump first too.

the one in the parts car was completely rebuilt and had only 60 miles on it when the guy was rear ended. Same with the tranny and suspension. So that I'll be swapping as well.

carefully unplug all the wiring on the intake manifold and AFM. Set it to the side of the engine compartment.

Do the same on the new engine. Pull them together and set it in the other car. Hook up the wires. EZ

carefully clean all the connections on the AFM, TPS, and ECU if you have any problems with it running.

Just got an email and J can't buy it after all... Thats ok though I was thinking once i install the engine and get it running real well I might not want to sell it after all... You guys know how it is an emotional attachment and all. If something comes up and J does decide to buy it again hes more that welcome.

By the Way J when you are here visiting family give me a call or some thing okies!!!! peace out and good luck to ya. I'll update this as much as possible

yeah, and I'll let you know if anything changes. It'd be cool if you decided to just keep it though. Then you can keep hangin' out in the S130 forum and not get harassed like some of the other non-owners

Oh wait, I'd be one of those non-owners

Well got the one out of the green one and next saterday i'll be transplanting a rebuilt one into it!!!! Its not that hard but it was challanging doing it by myself. I'm trying to get some help from the local car club here but alas no one can at the present time. I hate having to pay storage for 2 cars.
