Engine Swap

Ok, I have an '83 ZX and I blew up my current n/a engine. I was going to buy another n/a engine and replace it but that engine turned out to be junk. So I have my blown up engine almost ready to pull out and I need an engine to replace it. Anyone know of any ZX engines in NC? Also any suggestions/tips on installing the new engine. Thanks a lot.

For simplicity, I would say to unhook your intake and exahust manifolds and leave them in the engine compartment. Leave all the electronics connected and just try to fasten the manifolds to the side to give you room to remove and re-install the block/head. (assuming that's all that is broken) This will speed up your swap time and minimize trouble getting it running again.

There should be no complications with swapping in the same type of engine.

I was planning on leaving in the original exhaust, EFI, and electronics. So hopefully it shouldnt be too hard to install the new engine. Also I live in Raleigh so i'll see whats up with that tidewater z place.

Thanks a lot for the help. It turns out I found a whole '79 ZX with a good engine that a guy will sell me for $500. He also said he would give me an old '82 ZX if anyone is interested. It could probably run if someone spent a little time and money on it. I would take it but I dont have anywhere to put it. So if anyone is interested in a basically free Z then let me know.
