Thumbs up Project Pics

Only one pic from me, perhaps others would like to show their projects too?

Anyway, the paint is on but yet to be cut/buffed to get the shiny, such a relief to have finished the bloody bodywork

Pic shows a trial fit of the S14 suspension and 17x8" wheels to get the ride height worked out so the custom struts (front) and shocks (rear) can be measured and ordered. Its all worked out quite well. Overall car height will be reduced from 1295mm to ~1220, the lowest part of the body will be the underneath rails at ~105mm from the ground, thats about four inches for the imperialists Rake will be ~30mm and the suspension angles look OK.

Engine is a VG30DET with GT35R turbo, Z32 gearbox, 3.9:1 helical LSD.

Well, unfinished projects seem to be all the rage lately. Since you asked, here's the latest pic of mine... Unfortunately, it's exactly the same pic as the one I posted about 5 months ago... ;(

I assume you're talking to 260DET? Caus, the only conversion on my front end was the removal of everything but the subframe and radiator support...

Although, it is getting Ground Control coil-overs...

Thanks, yeh, you have to be mad to do these sorts of projects, they make no sense. But love the ZX coupe shape, so bugger sense........

Pic shows S14 multilink rear suspension cradle bolted up, ignore the CV shafts hanging down, no diff fitted or fuel tank. Thats about the finalised ride height too, the lower control arm is about parallel with the ground so the angles should be somewhere near good.

I don't have any pics or anything, but I figured since it's been about 2 months since I've posted that I'd give an update. My Z is still down. I'm waiting on a rechipped ecu to arrive. I'm going to be running a Z32 maf and 89 z31 ecu on my Z provided the postal service doesn't wipe out the memory of the ecu again with another x-ray scan... I don't have an SAFC-II in my Z either as I gave it to my bro to help him tune his Scion. Anyway, hopefully my Z will be running by the end of the month! I will dyno it some soon after it's running.

Yeh, the S14 rear cradle fits quite nicely, the big problem was in getting it high enough to keep the ride height down. A whole lot of cutting and welding for clearance purposes in various places, it was the last 50mm, getting it high enough for the rear cradle mounts to sit up against the Xmember which can be seen in the pic.

As for the front, it was just a matter of hacking into the S14 Xmember to fit and weld in new chassis rail mount brackets, the S14 must have wider spaced rails, nothing matched up. Then the ZX tension rod brackets had to be modded to take the S14 rods.

It was never going to be easy but the results look promising, the car will be doing some race circuit work for sure.

Yeah nice dude, mad props from me for that one. That is probably what my Z will look like, when I strip him to completely restore him. Keep us up on this sweet project, looking forward to the end results. Of course it will be enjoyable to follow your project, as you continue to move forward.
