You're going to have to get that exhaust header custom made. Not one in existance that I know of. As far as what parts to put in your engine, that's something to discuss with the engine builder. If he knows what he's doing then he'll be able to recommend what he thinks is best. He'll also be able to recommend forged piston or cast depending on your power goals. They're not ideal for street duty but become neccessary if large amounts of power are on the menu. Rod's are forged from the factory. You can either have them balanced and cleaned up or you can opt for aftermarket. Again it depends on you power goals. You'll want atleast a 3" exhaust with an extreme turbo setup. Back pressure has NO place on a turbo motor. The exhaust will probably have to be fabbed if you want one that big though. As for muffler, just get something free flowing. At 3"+ not too many people here are going to be able to tell you what sounds good on a 280zx. Companies like Borla or Flowmaster make throaty sounding mufflers. So you might want to look into them. Don't forget to get that head reworked to take advantage of your fresh motor build up. If you get a manifold fabbed, stainless steel at the minimum, econolly (or however it's spelled) would be recommended. Turbo manifolds tend to crack so you'll need to keep that in mind.

If you're going twin turbo L28, you should be aiming at a lot more than 300hp... I would hope anyway. I've seen a handfull of L28ETT's and they look rancid sick... like screaming "overkill." I've got several pics at home, of tt setups, but here's one I just quickly looked up:

I'm sure you will need to have someone fab a custom exhaust manifold, & make sure they use Stainless Steel. If I was getting 20 G's... I wouldn't be spending it on an L28ETT... but thas my own opinion, it's your $.

That twin turbo L28 is sick...I like to see that in the car! Insane.

Damn, if I had that much to spend, I'd be hard pressed where to start also. I've heard and believe that you should do a Z right by going with:

Brakes
Suspension
bushings
engine
looks

That's how I see it anyway....

321 Stainless Steel at a MINIMUM. Prefered would be econel. It's far supperior to SS and the odd's of it cracking if the welds are good are slim to none. You gotta remember that the turbo and the rest of the exhaust is hanging off of this thing. And while your 300 HP goal is a little low for wanting twin turbos, they will help you to maintain excellent driveability while still being able to push some impressive numbers. Just remember, you want two small turbos, not two large ones. You'll never spool them otherwise. If you've got 20 G's to kill then all of this doable. A good company to look into is Nissan Motorsports as they have a lot of engine parts for the 280zx. http://www.courtesyparts.com/nms/index.html On the left you'll find a link for the 280zx. They're good for a lot of racing parts you cant get elsewhere. They have a head gaket or two you might want to look into as well as an entire stroker kit. Good struff on there. Check em out.

Why not just swap in an already built RB26DETT...? as they say on TV, "Set it, and forget it". That would flat out rock. Actually, 20 grand sounds like a lot until you get into the small little incidentals that always pop up during a restore or project. Be careful not to blow the whole thing and not wind up being stuck half way through. You want ta built up motor, which is cool, but it won't do you much good if the rest of the car is crap. Smart money starts by building a car that can handle going fast... before making it fast. Tires, suspension, brakes then speed.

Now thats sexy. And those coil packs are pretty hot too. Of course with that manifold the distributor probably wouldn't even fit in there anymore. That's a nice setup.
