Hi all!
I just got a 280z but it has no engine/trans... I want it as a toy so i dont care for original parts...
Im planning to swipe a 5.3 vortec engine from a silverado (I got it real cheap) ... Any suggestions what else to put in it?
I was thinking on a corvette manifold next but... let me know what you think.
I dont want to spend thousands on this or go crazy with performance... I just want the car to run nicely with a big engine sound..

Don't worry about moding the engine until you get the engine in and transfering power to the drive train. Have you done any swaps before?

A 280Z or 280ZX? They are very different... and you posted this in the 280ZX section.

Which Corvette? Which motor?

dont forget truck engines and car engines are different in some cases, may want to look into it. may have to change out the cam and such to make it less of a slouch. look into jags that run website, they have a mounting kit so there is less fabwork. the headers or manifolds suck to fit so have fun with it. ive done the sbc swap into a 80 for a customer and even with the kit took some work.
