Metaphysically wrinkle free?

Check out the specs on each... then compare.

MSD Blaster 2
Oil-filled canister style
Alkyd tower provides greater insulation for the higher voltages generated by the increased turns ratio
Output of 45,000 volts maximum
2.125" round and 6" tall
Supplied with 0.8 ohm ballast resistor, terminal and boot

Accel 8140C Super Stock Coil Chrome
Primary resistance: 1.4 ohms.
Secondary resistance: 9.2 k ohms.
Maximum voltage: 42 k volts.
Finished in chrome, order Accel 8140 for "Accel Yellow" finish.

There's also several sub models of each. Ain't the internet a wonderful thang?

where i am at isnt giving my the specs on the accel, but part of it is personal experence too.

i only have experence with MSD on cars older than any Z made, hard to compare something from the late 50's to early 60's to something from 1979 with a computer quai controling it.

When in doubt... you can always turn to the manufacturer.

My Accel coil leaked. I have never even heard of a problem with any MSD product that was properly installed. I love MSD products. Ive got a Blaster 3 in my car, which is basically the same I think, but its got a spark plug style high tension terminal. I'm also running a 6a box on a z31 ecu swap.

i love msd. everyon uses them in racing as well, including nascar. that has to tel you something. make sure to mount either coil with the "****" up. it helps spark quality and life of the coil. you can in our cars behind the left headlight if you dont have a washer there. its not 100% vertical, but close enough.
