Yep, Bleach was here. We swapped radiators out at 11:00 pm last night. He was going to try and cut accross the desert with JB Weld. So I took the radiator out the old 79 and swapped it into his car. It seemed to hold pressure just fine. We also removed his condensor from in front of the radiator. He didn't have air conditioning anyways. Much better than being stuck in a small town trying to find a radiator for a 20 something year old car. It was late at night and I was exhausted and had to be at work by 6:00 A.M., so I didn't get a chance to go and kick it with him at all.

Next time you are in Vegas, give me a call, I'll show you what a really fun night in Vegas is all about. Just remember, what happens here stays here. Good luck getting home bro...

I MADE IT!
yup, I'm typing on my own computer at home now. Thanks so much Mr. Lost Vegas for that radiator swap. That thing worked perfect and the temp held a little lower while driving hard through the desert and up the mountains... probably because of the added airflow from removing that condensor.

What a trip... 3322 miles total

but ya, I didn't really 'do' anything in Vegas; just drove around and looked. Next time I'll plan ahead and see the city a little closer. but, at least I got to see it day and night and say I've been there. I also saw the real city of Vegas outside of the strip. Autozone, Albertsons, Carl's Jr, Checker auto... the places where the locals shop.

I think I'll make an article with pics of my trip on my own website. I'll post a link when its done. I met many people from Zdriver and from the other Datsun forum I use, NWDE.org also saw some family in the south.

Hey, anyone else driven Hwy 78 north from El Centro? There's one part where they have these really steep hills in the highway... its hard to explain but they go up and down very sharp. Its fun to take at 80mph, feels like a rollor coaster but this time there's no track to keep you held down! I wish I had someone with me to take a video...

That is some awesome mileage Bleach! Glad things worked out with the radiator and our good friend Lost Vegaz. Too bad you didn't get to hang out in Vegas a little longer and see the sights but it sounds like you had a pretty full trip as it is.

Thanks for swinging by San Diego and getting me out of the shop for a while, I had a really fun time BS'n with ya over lunch. Hopefully I'll see you again at next years MSA show if not sooner.

Now that vacation time is over... Get to work on that Turbo swap!

Rod.

oh ya... life and the turbo swap... I need a vacation to recover from this vacation.

Its good to be back in the 'green' land again though. We have trees and I have an overgrown lawn that needs some mowing.

Right on Bleach. I'm glad that radiater held. I'm also glad that you had a great trip. Please post the pictures asap, I'd love to see em. If I ever get that far north, I'll definatly look you up. It is great to have a comunity like Zdriver. Alot of great people on here. I am glad that I was in a position to help you out. If I had to drive accross Mojave with JB Weld holding my radiater together, I'd have been a nervous wreck. I am sorry that we didn't get a chance to kick it though. Maybe next time. If you are ever out this way again, you all ways have a place to stay.

Side note, my car is a Zdriver legend!!!!! LWW, Rod, his friend Bubbles, and Bleach, all have parts from my car. Skittles will have parts, and hopefully J will too. My car is the Zdriver *****

Next year I am definitely making it a point to spend a few days in Vegas. We'll hang out.

I'll be swinging through Vegas. I want my hardtop in time to get it ready before next MSA. My wife was trying to get me to sell my 81 first but I just swapped in that damn turbo motor so that's it's not going anywhere.

You don't trust a hotel parking lot? I was parked right outside my window every time. Hidden kill switch, The Club, and an alarm. If that's not enough then you're far too paranoid.

Besides that, I slept in my car two nights. Locked doors, kill switch on, and alarm on. I kept the club off the steering wheel in case I needed to make a quick getaway. no issues.

Goddam old ladies in SUV's and dirty guys in Rusted Pickups who always park 2 inches from my doors...

...go to a z meet without my z? ...no way!

Too bad we don't have official z drivers with trailers and space to rent on the road to MSA.
