New subframe bushings? Interested to see how loud it will be with solid bushings.

shouldn't be too bad, I've still got the equivalent of a poly diff bushing.

these are S13 bushings. they're real close, but still need to be milled down a bit.

But I think FricFrac was referring to your earlier discussion...

My mistake. Same process, different metals. That does make you uber original.

A bushing is to go between 2 moving metal parts so they don't wear each other out. I guess the aluminum won't wear it out as fast as steel on steel, but it will eventually. So my question is what do you gain from the aluminum vs. poly?

The problem is at very high HP numbers the flex in the sub frame moves wheel forward in the wheel arch. The S130 rear wheels are positioned forward in the arch. The stock bushings where the subframe mounts to the car are offset and that moved the wheel forward in the wheel arch. When you machine new bushings moves the wheels back 0.3" towards the center of the wheel well and the solid bushing reduces deflection towards the front of the wheel well under acceleration...

well, for instance look at my car:

and that's 3.5" shorter than stock with 1" shorter overall diameter tires.

but I'm not doing the solid bushings just for the .300" it moves the fender back in the fender lol just making the whole thing act as an actual part of the car instead of having it flop around when I downshift and clutch kick and transition and all that stuff.
