Awesome if you are running a boosted car - otherwise a complete waste of time. The stock ECU won't be able to use any extra air flow. Port and polish the runners will help with the flow but results on a non-boosted car will be negligible...

Don't look at it to complicated get an intake in front of u and look closely. There's nothing in between to cut into besides the post to mount the heat shield and other items to. U'll beable to see what to do.

So no matter what I do performance wise such as running the n42 head with a higher duration cam, headers, better ignition. The 60mm TB and Turbo afm will do nothing for me being that I'm running an n/a? So dose that go for the z31t ecu upgrade as well? Or other stand alone like nistue or Mega squirt? Or is that kinda stuff on an n/a kinda pointless?

Cam isn't going to help you with the stock ECU. You can mess with the AFM a bit but it's a hack job at best... You really should have a tuneable ECU like Mega Squirt. Nistune is great if you are running something newer like a Z33, 34. The Z32 is pretty good as well so it's probably the first generation I would consider running Nistune with. The Z31 ECU is pretty ancient and IMHO the money is much better spent on a Mega Squirt setup. Plus with MS you can tie everything together instead of band aiding bits and pieces to trick the ECU

To set the timing you can do it either way. If your gun doesn't do total timing by digital or by a wheel with numbers 0-40 ish the set base timing to 18 at idle. If you have a good gun then rev the engine to 3000 plus and set the timing to 34-38. When doing this procedure the timing marks should point to the zero marker at tdc. Hope that is clear enough. And as far as ecu stuff goes get megasquirt and be done.

Speaking of which.... how's that going? Do you think it's the dizzy that was/is giving you grief?

for me?? havent touched the car. lol been busy fixing other peoples cars in my shop. sold the red race car tho. i set my timing and actually drove my car to work one day tho. i miss it so bad it was awesome. working on doing the lightweight flywheel and dual friction clutch here soon then back at it for the megasquirt. researching options for the dizzy or going coil packs with wasted spark. i see a junk yard run coming once it stops raining, its supposed to be summer

This is turning into a thread jack lol - er free bump I mean. If I get some free time I have an encoder wheel for the turbo dizzy that will support COP/CNP and wasted spark through Mega Squirt so fully programmable on the spark map whereas an EDIS will not be. I'd get the MS running first... See ifbyou can track down an 82-83 dizzy and I'm sure we can get you going

LMAO @ free bump.. thats all good guys. hope youve got ur MS going Shady. Thanks for the help as of late. still wrkn on it.

UPDATE!!
Well since I last updated this. Much has happened on the car and life. Anyway. I got almost all the body work done removed all badges and side molding just primer black for now rattle caned still have some more to tackle. Finished my wheels silver powder coated with black paint centers. Still need to finish the caps. Powder coated parts for engine bay ready to go once I can tackle that. But I have since moved twice since I did them. I am now in smog free AZ before that was south Texas starting out from central Cali lol. Yeaaa Since I’ve got the car here in AZ as I had to leave it behind while in Texas. I have put on tokio blues all the way around swapped hatchets got rid of the badging rear wiper arm and water sprayer as well. I have since Had problems with it killing alternators started about a month after I drove it here 650+ miles with not a single issue drove great all the way and totally ate the grape vine for dinner and that was fully loaded with tools and all! Well still got much on the to do list little by little I’ll get there. So Ive got the Maxi fuse Upgrade done and large gauge wire for the alt. GM one wire to go back in after I solve the Alt problem. Best part PICS!!

The one with drawing on it is my idea for customizing the stock rear bumber with 2 bumber covers and some glass work. got a set of center tail light housings coming from borini63 aka Jamal thanks man! not sure how im going to do the center but ehhh its a mock up lol.

Kamei air damn

I was thinking about making a plug of my air damn that is out of production for those out there that like it as I do. To get some extra funds going for my Z let me know if any of you would be interested. Im not sure how much I would be asking as I dont know how much time and materials it would take to reproduce it after building the plug my guess would be somewhere around 2-300$. I might add it into the front bumber with the tumors removed and shocks compressed as a one peice. Idk just an idea Im working on. of course it would be made of fiberglass rather then poly plastic or whatever the original is made out of.

front bumber mod

As the title says i got busy this last weekend and knocked out the front bumber mod Ive been wanting to do. Im not going to do a full writtten write up as pics are worth a thousand words and over all its pretty self explainatory. Ive still got to go over it all clean everything up and make it all look pretty and dial it all in. but it dose give me a lay up and ideas of how to add my air dam into the front bumper as a one piece. I also want to figure something out for cleaner looking way to fill the space that needed to be cut out for the hood to clear the bumper overlay. so here are the pics!!

4th set... I just stuffed the side trim peice inside the front overlay temporarily to finnish off the weekends work. I will be cutting and blending it all together as well as getting rid of the groove and smoothing it all in nicely. So there it all is I think including the tumors it takes just over 4" off the nose.
