Random pictures as it's misting outside.

Looks stock amirite?

Got my intercooler mounted.

I wanted it to be sneaky so no one can see it from a distance.

It's not bolted up completely just yet.

Ducting will make a huge difference in how your intercooler works (and your radiator!)

Consider running your air filter outside of the engine bay. Why draw in hot air from the engine bay when you can get cool air from outside - improves the efficiency of your intercooler system.

It's been running swell even during yesterday's heat of 80+ degrees and todays 40 degrees..
She never gets hot and the stock clutch fan draws enough air anyways

Hmmmm just wondering about spark plug gapping.
Bigger gap is capable if I have a stronger ignition system right?
I'm running .032 right now from just reading old threads on here
Would I be safe to run .046-048?
Thanks Cause I know .044 is stock so going down is kinda weird lol

Yeah, there's no sense in running a smaller gap than stock if you have aftermarket ignition. Gap it!

For whatever reason I thought down-sizing the gap was good, well it was nice and all but my low end suffered crazy at .032..
Regapped at .048 and holy moly the car has low end and extremely insane top end now!
I love this car

Car is running very well and what not. Boosting at 5-8 depending if the clutch wants to hold or not lol
I round about 210-220 to the wheels because I raced my friends stock GTI VW which is rated at 230-ish

Anyways, I'm fixing to install my walbro 255 and was wondering if anyone kept that stock fuel dampener thing a mabob?
Thanks

Does the GTI weigh the same as the 280ZX? If not there is no comparison for the HP...

Give or take the GTI weighs roughly 3200 lb with my friend in it.
My car probably weights what 3k?
Not far off honestly.

But does anyone know whether I keep the fuel dampener if I install my 255? Still waiting for an answer.
Also I threw in some Castrol 10-40, **** Royal purple for the price.
Runs amazing, smoother even now.

Last time I weight myself and almost a tank of gas in the 280ZX loaded with T-Tops, AC, etc was 2800lbs - that's at least 400lbs difference there...

Keep the damper - why not?

Agreed on the oil - changing the oil regularly and the filter at the same time is 95% of the whole "what is the more awesomest" oil debat. Personally I like the Pennzoil Platinum (great VOA results, etc) bang for the buck. Use 5W30 if you can get it instead - provides better protection on cold starting....

In Houston during summer it never drops below 70 degrees :/
I'm being optimistic because it's moreover around 80 degrees >_<
I'll change it back soon enough, if not would it be helpful to make a switch panel (which I plan to do when I upgrade the alt, electric fans, etc) and turn off the fuel pump and let the oil prime?

I don't know why not to keep the dampener lol I was just wondering, thanks!

I don't think it's going to make any difference if the fuel pump is on or not. If you are cranking the engine over you're running it with electricity until the ignition/fuel system starts - the issue is oil getting to the top of the engine for the cams, etc. Unless you're running a pre-oiler system turning the fuel off isn't going to change how the system works getting oil to the top (eg the pistons/crank/cams, etc are turning regardless). 5W30 will just get it up there faster if its cold compared to 10W30 but give you the same viscosity at temp.

You get to see my "legendary" wall riding skillz yo.. no not really not in this video, in one of my qualifying runs I made 1st place due to it and won 2nd place.
This was the finals, I would've done better had my follow run not sucked ***.

but seriously no support?
