OK someone answer the tie rod question?!?!

Also I badly need help with this part, I ordered the tension rod kit from Blackdragon, and it shows to fit 79-83, but I just found it on the Z store and they show it only fits 70-78?!?!?!

A) Will this work on my 83t?

B) Has anyone installed this? If so can you please post a picture.

That's for the 70-78 S30... not the right part for your 280zx. Go to AutoZone / Checker / your local parts store.

To take off the tie rods:

-Loosen the tie rod nut on the steering nuckle until the top of the bolt is flush w/ the nut. Give it a couple dead on whacks w/ a hammer & it should pop out... if not, use a ball joint removing fork.

-Once that is disconnected, mark the inside threads where the tie rods screw on (so you can keep the alignment) with some white out. Put a wrench on the tie rod & nut... crank them loose.

-Remove tie rod

-Install is easy.

OK so the book isn't misleading. Interesting, thank you.

So this page is wrong? Or I am a dumb ***?

I spoke with Black Dragon this morning, and they were very adamant on that kit working with the 83?

Ah... you're getting absolutely raped for $140. Most junk yards will sell them for $20-$50.

No not yet still looking.

Not to change the subject, but I want to vent for a second.

I ordered parts from www.rockauto.com a week ago, and they came into day. Here is what I ordered.

2 different types of wheel bearings for the rear x2
Cap
Rotor
Ball joints
Valve Cover Gasket

Here is what I recieved.

2 different types bearings that don't go to a Z
Cap with 8 plugs
two different types of ball joints
and a bent valve cover gaket

Funny...........
