Well i took a look at that stuff to day. I ckecked over the switch at the wheel I tested it with a light tester top and bottom it is working fine. power on both side when the switch is opened power on one side when the switch is closed . i found witch wirer runs from the switch to the plug under the dash just befor the fire wall i checked it on both sides and it had power.
I then checked fusilbe link by the batteres under the hood.It to had power .
I unpuged the the lights them selfs and checked to see if they had power right at the light they did not... hmmmmm iam i missing some thing ???

I've had this problem before. Do the other lights dim out or does the engine RPM change when you turn on the headlights? In my case, a couple wires had worn-through sleeving, and they were arcing onto the body, causing my headlights to not work. I also smelled the burning scent, but it was a corroded wire behind my dash - it melted itself when the headlights grounded out. Just check your wiring, maybe something's connected where it's not supposed to be.
Hope this helps,

headlight problem
i had a problem with my lights too a while back but it steadily got worse and worse. first the hi-beams went out and then the head lights (that's when i got it fixed). it turned out to be the switch on the steering column. it had just worn out. if that is your problem, you may have sorted part of the switch. hope that helps.
