Help me please!! heavily Clogged coolant passages :-\

Okay on my L28et which has been reduced to just the block and head , I have found that there is alot of this copper/brown colored build up anywhere that the coolant is. I stuck a vacuum to the water outlet and rusty colored water came out. There are hard build ups all throughout the engine and I have picked most of them through with a screwdriver, but I don't know what to do!! If I put the head back on with the gasket, and then I put a high pressure garden hose to the water inlet, will it flush it good enough? HELP! I have no idea what to do...

most old cars seem to look like this... its rust not copper i think it means that at some point the car didnt have a good enough coolant to water ratio

no problem unless the passages are comletely blocked, if your still worried i guess you could sandblast the holes out???? im sure some other peps here know more than i do, actually its a fact

When in doubt, you could use google. Looky what I found:

The EASIEST way (but definitely not the cheapest) is to get the block dipped at a machine shop. If you are rebuilding a motor, you should have it checked at a machine shop anyway.

I'm not rebuilding it because, honestly, I'm too afraid to take it all apart because even though I have a FSM I don't think I would be able to put it all back together right and I'd end up blowing up my new engine haha. I am however replacing all the gaskets that I can on it.
