Got a TON done on my 240Z today...

Got the radiator, drive shaft, motor and tranny pulled out.

Finished the tranny rebuild with all new syncro's and a shiny new coat of paint!

Decided to have the engine bay painted while it's empty. It's so much easier that way...

So, it's off to the painter on Monday when my trailer gets back from LA.

My freakin' back and thighs are killin' me!

So this would be your '72 rolling chassis one correct? Good job though man, sounds like you accomplished a lot. I know my legs, and about everything else would be killing me after all that. LOL

Nope, this is the "original with almost no rust"... It's the one I smoked the motor while I was at Laguna Seca...

I figure a week to get the paint job done... hahaha, like a paint and body guy has ever finished anything in a week... Anyway, by the time the car comes back from paint, I should have the new motor put together and ready to go in.

At least one of my Z's should be running by April 27th... I'm still gonna try and finish the JCR ZX-Turbo, but I don't know if I'll have time to get them both done. My travel schedule this year is starting to have a pretty bleak outlook...

Germany the week after next, Melbourne Australia a couple weeks later, Baltimore Maryland the middle of March, Cape Town South Africa at the end of March and Fribourg Switzerland in the middle of April... ;(

Haha, lww finish the 280?! Now thats funny. its got at least another 90k and a couple years in the shop before it gets another couple clear coats, a complete tear down, re-re-re-rebuilt, stripped to the metal, repainted, re-re-re-re-built and then do the whole thing over again cept in an off white.
You do know he gunna be coming to MSA in the Honduh, right? Either that or the Durango if he brings the clan. . . .pft, wade finish the 280 . . .good stuff

Sorry, I'm not susceptible to peer pressure... I have too many guns...

The 240Z will definitely be "done" if done is considered driveable.

Regardless, I plan to pick-up a BRE spook and spoiler for it at the show, then I'll get the rest of it done. I still need to get the interior re-done, new dash, new console, new interior panels, new interior paint and the exterior re-painted...

I went FROM a Porsche 911 to the Z! Even with all the crap I go through with this car, it's NOTHING compared to owning a Porsche on the "Pain in the A$$" scale.

Sounds like you have women all figured out there Snow. How about the Homer Simpson version.... "Son, a woman is a lot like a... a refrigerator! They're about six feet tall, 300 pounds. They make ice, and... um... Oh, wait a minute. Actually, a woman is more like a beer."

if you know how to keep your Z happy... you know how to keep your woman happy... and in turn your self happy... at least with your personal life.

Yeah, Porsche's are a LOT more maintenance and the parts cost WAY more than Datsun/Nissan parts and the performance (unless it's a new one) is only slightly better in some cases. They're just not worth the pain in my opinion.
