The N47/dished combo is stock for '79-'81 S130's, it yeilds about an 8.4:1 compression ratio, as the N47 has smaller chambers than the P79/P90 heads, which had larger chambers to accomodate the lower compression (for the turbo motors) and the flattop pistons used in the non-turbo motors

N47~44.6cc's (round exhaust ports)
P79~53.6cc's (round exhaust ports)
P90~53.6cc's (square exhaust ports)
other heads:
N42~44.6cc's (square exhaust ports)
E88~44.7cc's (square exhaust ports)
E31~42.4cc's (square exhaust ports)

OH, and I also forgot, the P90 heads also have 1mm larger exhaust valves.

007's Aston Martin didn't have a water-funnelling air intake, though. Never mind the fact it probably wasnt at the same location as Blue's.

Thanks for opening my eyes to the dangers of driving through flooded waters. I figured if I ever had to do it, I'd have a problem with the exhaust, didn't know you could hydrolock a motor. I wish you luck with your Z, although mine is long gone. But hey, I didn't buy a US car. I bought a 91 Mercury Capri--Made in Australia.

lol Today I went to measure it (waters gone but I used the pics as a ref) the deepest point was about 1 1/2 feet deep. So ya. it was a lot deeper then I thought >.>

Bad news its even tho I sprayed wd-40 on the cylinder walls, they started to rust... So I guess Im gonna pull the engine and tear the engine totally apart.

The cylinder walls will start to rust in open air. It doesn't take long. You just use a cylinder hone I believe it's called. When I took the heads off my old Z31, out in open air they started showing rust super fast. It's very light and isn't that big a deal.

You guys are making this WAY more complicated and WAY more pessimistic than it probably is.

You should have never pulled the head. You could have easily gotten the car running without disassembly and you PROBABLY would have had no problem.

Most of you people have absolutely NO IDEA how over engineered these engines are.

This engine was turned into a freakin' DIESEL with minimal changes.

Stuff that would have absolutely DESTROYED an Chevy/Ford/Dodge motor, these L6's can brush off like an irritating gnat.

I've torn these motors apart with over 250k miles and still have the original factory hone marks...

Hey, saw the threads name, read the first paragraph, skipped to the end.

I just pulled my l28et and have it laying around, no idea what to do with it, so if worst comes to worst i have it for you if you need it. comes with two extra turbos.

Where at and how much?

wait a tic.... AW ****.... I was trying to remember why I had that bumper in my shop >.< ****... I think the shipping was like around $80 cuz they had to get a box for it if I did ship it. and you know how they rip you off with the boxes.

Thank you lww. but I had to pull the head as it completely blew out the head to the point coolant was actually making its way out of the engine through it. But now that the cylinder walls are rusting Im a bit worried. Im wondering If I cant get luck and lightly take some steel wool and rub it off.

Tulsa Oklahoma, and im not sure, last time i tried to start it it wouldnt turn over. And in the middle of my swap i found one of my solenoid wires loose (completely out)

Idk, thats if you can even get it. Freight shipping is a beeotch

use some PB blaster and a soft greenpad, should just be a film of surface rust that hasn't eaten into the metal any and will wipe away with a little help.

let the PB blaster soak for a few min and let it do its thing and then give it a light scrubbing with the soft greenpad
(if its not bad itl just wipe off with no effort)

I'm not positive, but I'd even think that even slightly rusting if you got it back together relatively quick the combustion, heat, etc should be enough to probably clean it up. I could be completely wrong though.
