Fuel pump issue.

I went to start my 280zx the other day but only starts for a second, then starves with fuel and goes off. Usually the fuel pump goes on when the ignition is on, but this is not happening. The fuel pump is good because I connected it straight to the battery to test it. And the fuses under the dashboard on the driver side seem all intact.

Are there any other set of fuses? What else can I check?

Use a multimeter to check voltage at the pump, check the fuel pump relay, and check the fusable links.

Lots of pics in the FSM. Click: www.xenons130.com/reference

The relay is on the right side of the glove box at the a-pillar. There is no "fuel pump fuse". Check the fusable links under the hood.

Sorry if I haven't updated this thread, but the garage where my 280zx is parked is not nearby so I can't work on it properly.

I noticed that when the car is ignition is on the fuel pump doesn't but when i disconnect the oil sender unit it does go on.

Anything?
