Looking for a good quality cap and rotor for my 82 280zxt. I don't think anyone makes a performance cap and rotor so has anyone found one brand is better then the others. Or are they all the same with a different name on them. Any recommendations would help. Thanx

So are you saying that they are all the same? From what I've heard you what to find a brass one. The OEM from Nissan is aluminum. Does any one know if napa, autozone, or oreilly sells a brass one? I did find out that Borg Warner use to sell a brass one but no more.I'm going to stop by summit today to see if they sell a brass one.

From a quick Google search, I'd say you're on a witch hunt. Sounds like no one carries them, and it's only "necessary" if you are using some high output ignition that would normally burn through aluminum (funny, because I've been using a Mallory 6AL and MSD Blaster II coil for a LONG time and my cap and rotor look fine when last inspected earlier this year).

 

I am using a high output ignition and only have about 4,000 miles on cap and rotor and the aluminum cap is not holding up. All ready having problems with it. I stopped by summit, napa, and auto-motion today and no luck all have aluminum caps.
