Computer box in dash?

Computer box in dash?
There's a control unit/ computer box in the dashboard of my 81 that mounts sort of right under the glove box and it has plugs going into both sides of it. Does anyone know what this controls? I have gutted my dashboard and removed any HVAC related parts underneath it. I have a feeling that this box is no longer needed, but I don't want to remove it without knowing what it does. I can snap a photo of it if you need, but it's really the only box under there

Warning box for the body sensors (ya know... the check box on the dash?). It has (or should have) a massive sticker on it saying it's the warning control unit... and there's lots of info in the Haynes / FSM.

No stickers on it anymore, only identifying mark is some Japanese symbol inked on it, and a 10-11 digit number that I can't read. 31 years of crappyness has taken its toll on this beater, even the stickers are running away from it! Lol thanks Nismo
