CardBoard Interior Panels...Fiberglass

Has anyone taken the back tail light panel or cubbyhole panel and reiforced or caped them in fiber glass to help them not fall apart? Or even Fiber glass the front and sand and paint the fiberglassed surface for the final product. I have finaly found a set that the cardboard is still in one peice even though the vynal is shot. I want to do something to help them stay in one piece and look good. Any ideas?

hair spray? or some other kind of offical spray on adhesive that will just grab to the cardboard and coat it like paint, making it stiff but strong

The sky is the limit. I threw some auto carpet on the panels back in the day... If you want the orig look, grab some vinyl, 3M tack spray, and a heat gun, and mold up some new skins.

Heat Rave R has done a lot to his interior...

Yup. Peal the old vinyl/foam off and use a heat gun and some Super 77 3M spray and put on your new vinyl.

Yep, once I found a set of panels that were not complete crap I brushed resin onto them front and rear, and then stretched vinyl over them. Looks great, and should hold up a lot better than the original cardboard.
