Break problem! Kinda hazardous!
Ladies/Gents,
Today I went to brake hard today to miss from hitting a car, and well the car took a sharp right curve when I went to brake!
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Nothing snapped prior to this? Did you hear anything snap or break under your car. I'm just trying to cover all grounds here. This is what happen to me...I driving on the interstate in VA doing about 70mph and I hit a bump or pothole, I can't remember, but it made a loud sound and I didn't think anything of it. Well, it's time to get off the interstate and at 70mph, I had to slow down. I let off the gas, but don't hit the brake and then I'm coming up on a slight right real fast, I know my brakes can handle it. Well I hit those brakes and my wheel pulls hard right and I slide off the road. I look to see how this happen, my tension compression rods (strut rods) snapped. That must have happen at the pothole I hit prior. And my right wheel was shoved in the wheel well. Humor me...just the front end, and not just the T/C rods, just check if anything is loose. That's just worst case...it might be a weak/frozen caliper. But this right turn my car made when I hit the brakes was hard, like I was turning hard right.
I do not remember hearing anything snap.
Well I won't have time to get under it untill Sunday sometime, but I did notice something else while driving it tonight. When I go to brake not only does it pull HARD to the right, it also pops very loudly. Does this make sense to anyone?
Thanks,

that sounds like a tension compression rod may be gone, but if nothing is broken under the car, then i would say (from all of my experience) that this would be a seized caliper, or caliper sliders, you can check by getting the right side jacked up, and get somebody to mash the brakes, if it still spins, it is the caliper, once it is removed, take the caliper off, get somebody to VERY VERY gently push the brakes, if the caliper dont move, its that or the rubber line has closed up on ya. try the caliper first tho.
Ladies and gentlemen,
This is the moment you've all been waiting for... drum roll please......
The nut on the right tension is missing!!! Ta da! Along with all the bushings etc......
Non the less, this sucks.
Anywho that's the answer! Now how the heck it came off is beyond me!
