Before I'm off to work

I hit under the glove compartment in my car today with my skateboard, and coolant dripped inside the car.
I'll update when I get back from work (not driving the Z), and check out where the leak came from. Any help with that little info would be appreciated.

Oh Jesus H Christ...

If it comes down to heater core problems, can anyone post a how-to, with a possible window of time on how long it should take? I need it for work/school so I hope it doesn't take too long...

It's all in your trusty Haynes manual. Remove dash, remove center heater control box, tear into control box, install new core, reinstall everything back into the car. Should take only 5-8 hours for a first timer.

I suggest finding the real problem before jumping to conclusions. A more common problem is the water **** which controls the flow of coolant into the heater core. Those usually go bad and start to leak. That's a much easier fix.

if you dont need heat right now you can always bypass the heater core and just connect the two heater core lines together for now while you work on it, i forgot to mention that it usually is the water **** that leaks, but i thought that was more behind the heater controls close to the fire wall, so i didnt think it would build behind the glove box

Well I'm going to look it over with my friend tomorrow, and hopefully it's not a heater core issue. For now, I think I'll bypass it, since it's summer in sunny So Cal...

I took it to my Auto Tech class, but we ran out of time to really inspect anything. I did find the source though- Under the glove compartment area (bottom of the dash), I have a black plastic cover with some oval shaped holes. I slapped it and one of them dripped coolant. Thing is, my radiator is fine and my coolant reserve is full o.O

What color is the liquid? You've never mentioned it (just want to be clear).

And are you talking about the floor heat ducting? That would make since... the coolant is leaking from the heater core, and running to the floor ducting.

how did it taste? last time i had a swig it was really sweet

for real though you probly want to get in there and get in there and either fix the leak or bypass it, theres alot of important wires under there, your cruise control box (if you have cc) all the wires to your dash, and your fuse box...

I plan on calling my friend up tomorrow, he has lots of experience with 280ZX's (he's gone through 5 in the last 2 years o.O) and he could help. He never learns to not drift drunk though...
