Anyone else have this issue?

While at speeds over 50MPH my windshield wipers lift off the window and do nothing to clean the rain from the window.

Have you checked your wiper arms? I imagine the spring or the pivot joint is rusted up. Also... RAINX.

Maybe the spring isn't even attached... thus allowing the arm to flop around.

Well I checked. The spring is there and there's no rust that I can see. Maybe Bosch wiper blades just suck lol

So it's just the plastic blades lifting off, not the wiper arm?

Do the blades bend to the contour of the windshield?

Ah ok. I was wondering if this was a common thing on all 280ZX but now that I think of it I've always used one form or another of Bosch wiper blades lol

Funny...I have Bosch blades on my Z. And they stay on the windshield pretty well. Though I don't have rain as much here. lol

Speaking of wiper blades... It seems that all parts shops are now selling entire blades instead of the refill rubber. Due to the unique arm assembly of the zx wiper, I can't find one that will attach to the arm. Last time I bought wipers, I removed the rubber from the new blades and installed them into the stock blade assembly.

Has anyone found a kit that fits?

This is why I'm using Bosch blades. They have that metal pin.

I found that the rubber "cut to size" inserts from Canadian Tire fit my ZX. I mean... you cut them to fit... so they gotta. Never seen a plastic piece that fits though I just take the rubber out and ditch the plastic piece.

I've had the wiper lifting problem on a few cars though. Even when my Ranger was new the winds around Lethbridge would pull the blades above the glass when highway driving.

All the manufacturers have gone to selling full assemblies only. No more individual blades. They can charge more, it's more efficient to manufacture one "style" in China and the average village idiot can install them without having to call customer support.

We just pull the rubber out of the blades, slide it in to the original arm and throw the new assembly away. It's a total waste.

I just change the entire blade sense I know the ones that fit the arm. Tho I think theres a difference in driver side and passenger side blade lengths. that or my arm is screw up because it hits the top chrome strip and the lower one when I have it on high.

The blades will come with adapters sometimes. Altho when you lift the plastic usually the pin will go thru the hole and the plastic will click down and secure the pin
