Hey guys, I am a noob FYI... I have a problem with my Z. It Idles rough and misfires a lot. It idles like its on a urge of stalling. When I give it gas it revs like **** then dies. I replaced the spark plugs and wires and its still the same. I have a feeling its my fuel pump. I did hear a lot whining noises and and humming noises all the time prior to this situation. Can a bad fuel pump cause my car to idle and act up like this? Couple days before all of this I did notice loss of power and the car felt different. I was scared that I had some weak cylinders but when I tested them all cylinders had good compression, so Im guessing it should be an air or fuel problem. Any info will help.. Please and Thanks

 

The fuel pump is external inline, so it will always be louder than an in-tank pump like on most cars these days. But if you suspect the fuel pump, check the fuel pressure.
